Remington (Foundations Ambassador)

Freeze Brand: 04599037
Born: 2004
Titled: January 2010

Remington is a brown gelding who was captured January 2007 in Wheeler Pass, NV.

Remington is a quintessential mustang in looks and personality and is HorseTenders Mustang Foundation’s ambassador. As such, he is currently unavailable. His stunning presence, engaging eyes, and kind spirit make him a distinguished representative of HorseTenders Mustang Foundation and a hard-working member of the H.E.R.D. This unfortunately, wasn’t always the case. Remington was one of the top 10 winners in the 2008 Extreme Mustang Makeover, and sold immediately at the event auction. It turned out his training was more superficial and harmful than it appeared.

Although his new owner loved him, Remington suffered brutal treatment at the hands of five separate trainers over the next few years, including extreme damage to his tongue and skeletal structure. Heartbroken, his owner generously delivered him to HorseTenders. By this time, Remington was totally unmanageable. Punishment and coercion was all he knew. But because these horses respond to love, patience and understanding, today Remington is fully healed and fully restored to his physical, emotional and spiritual self. Yes, spiritual. Because Remington is the perfect example of how these horses forgive their abuse at the hands of humans. Remington has opened his heart to us, and it is a beautiful, strong and loving testimonial to the mission and efforts of HorseTenders Mustang Foundation.
